Respect for Animal Welfare: PP YARNS Suppliers' Charter
PP YARNS & CO suppliers must understand that animals are living beings endowed with sensitivity and must treat their welfare with the utmost care.
Animal welfare is a fundamental aspect of the sustainability and quality of products. It refers to the health condition and feelings of the animal, as well as its attempts to adapt to its environment. Animal welfare can be scientifically measured and must be distinguished from concepts related to animal rights. It concerns only the care of living animals.
Commitment of PP YARNS & CO:
We require that our suppliers maintain the animals in good health and ensure their care is appropriate.
They must respect minimum living conditions for the animals, ensuring they do not suffer any avoidable pain or any negative impact on their health.
The breeding, keeping, and transport of animals must be done under conditions that do not generate any unnecessary suffering.
PP YARNS & CO suppliers are committed to complying with European standards and regulations (such as Council Directive 98/58/EC of 20 July 1998 concerning the protection of animals kept for farming purposes) as well as international regulations and those in force in the country of breeding.
